Become a volunteer to contribute your time, skills and talent! Or, choose to donate a gift of money to help fund our maintenance/land management or our educational programming. Your hard work and gifts mean that the Gottfried Prairie and Arboretum (GPA) will continue to be a wonderful place for area residents to enjoy and learn about. Volunteer opportunities include:
- Maintaining the GPA: Volunteers can help in one or more of the following areas: invasive weed control, brush cutting, mulching, trash clean up, etc.
- The Friends of GPA (FOGPA) Board: The Friends of GPA Board oversees the activities and maintenance of the Gottfried Prairie & Arboretum. People who love nature, have good ideas on how to enhance and protect the GP&A, and have connections to the Fond du Lac County community are encouraged to apply. Yearly appointments are approved in May.
- Environmental education knowledge sharing: The FOGPA is always looking for people to share their knowledge and expertise for our educational programs. Let us know what you would like to present!
- Prairie Fest Committee: This committee starts meeting in April/May to plan for our annual Prairie Fest event that occurs the first Saturday of August. Prairie Fest is a free family-oriented environmental education event with activities for all ages. If you love to plan events, especially ones centered around nature, please connect with us!
